It is good to know where your food comes from. When I have time I like to go to the farms and see for myself. This is a good why of knowing about how food end up on plates, which is important with the industrial era and all. If you have seen the Movie Our Daily Bread you can see were most of our food comes from. Any way we have been getting this great Hydro Bibb lettuce from this place in Athens Ga. I have never been to Athens so that souds like a great reason to go, I don't know too many people in the food industry in Atlanta yet but we did a charity thing with this Chef Hugh Acheson from Five and Ten, He said if i was in Athins to look him up, We talked to him at Five and Ten and they are not open for lunch so we went to his lunch spot called The National it was great and not too expensive. Looked up directions for the farm and it is 2.3 miles from the restaurant. Pull up to BJ's Produce and WOW not as big as I had thought.
Walking around through the different Gardens seeing the Hydro-systems that he made is amazing, his passion for what he does is great to see, it shows in his product. With the Space that he has he told me that he can grow 100 Acers of food. What a great way to grow food in a smaller Place.
The pic on the Right is all the Bibb Letuce and the pic on the Left is the Garden Mix, that is refered to in the Kitchen as Sex in a Box. It is great Stuff. This Idea could grow and grow, what if we had 100 Acers of Hydro what would that produce. Maybe that question is what got the industrial era started.
