Today is our fifth Anniversary of marriage. Hard to believe it have been five years since we where at Caesars Palace the Time goes by so fast now. Our Anniversary means allot to both of us and we celibate it, We always watch own wedding video, that's the only reason we still have a VCR. We go have a nice dinner some where this year its Bacchanalia. Jest a great day to really enjoy each other and remember the past and talk about were we will be on or next anniversary.
My Snail Egor Just passed, Never Thoth that I would have him that long. I found him in a box of Kale last February . Brought him home and said to my wife I have got an Escargot, She thought I was going to cook him. I loved to see what he liked to eat like Tomatoes, Cabbage. He did not like Spinach. He cracked his Shell about two months ago in a great escape. Egor will be missed.
This was back at Culinary School in the year 2000. It is funny to see old picketers of the past. We are at an all night dinner eather really late or realy early. any way seeing this brought back a lot of great memories.
I really like Wednesday, I usually am for the most part off and get to wake up late, I make a pot of french press coffee, today I desired to smoke a medium to good Cigar and I walked next door to the store to get the The New York Times. On Wednesday's is when the Dining Section is. I always say to cooks who just graduated school and are coming up through the ranks, that we spent so much money on school, would you spend $1.60 a week for continuing education, the answer is always yes, then I say Wednesday New York Times Dining. In these times you can read it for free on the internet but there is something about holding the paper in your hand, I keep them, I have piles of Dining sections neatly in 1/4 folds stacked on each other, must drive my wife up the wall but its a great reference. Like the time I needed to find the article ( Get that Menu away from my Child ) it was a great tool in writing a kids menu. The Day after Obama was elected was a Wednesday I was living in the Hotel at the time and ordered the Times with breakfast, I did like i always do and got out the Dining section and trashed the rest, had no idea that that paper is already selling for fifty dollars but I still have the dining part of that historic paper. Sometimes, I find myself looking for an article that I wanted to show someone, or use it for something, it takes far too long. I am in need of a better organization process.
